On the desktop, records that could not reach the server wait in a queue on the PC and are sent from the dashboard's Pending Sync button once you are back online. The Android app stores offline prescriptions, repairs and sales on the phone and syncs them when it reconnects; synced records then appear on both devices.

It handles optical storefront billing, frame inventory barcodes, lab order tracking, patient eye test history, and automated WhatsApp billing receipts. This allows independent practitioners and retail optical chains to manage both the clinical optometry side and storefront retail side in one synchronized platform.

Far less than most opticians expect. The desktop software runs on any Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC with a standard dual-core processor and 4 GB of RAM — an ordinary billing counter machine is sufficient. For printed invoices you can connect a 58 mm or 80 mm thermal receipt printer, and a barcode or QR scanner is optional but speeds up stock intake considerably. On the mobile side, any current Android phone runs the app. None of the peripherals are proprietary, so you can buy them locally.

A single-counter shop can usually start billing the same day: install the desktop software, sign in, add your frames and lenses, and start raising orders. Larger stores spend longer entering stock properly, because getting frame variants right at the start saves stock-count corrections later. Frame lists kept in Excel can be brought in with the bulk import on the Frame Inventory screen instead of being typed by hand.

They share one account and the same records, but they do different jobs. The Android app is for the chair and the shop floor: prescriptions with Scan Prescription, patient search and QR receipt lookup, repairs, quick sales and WhatsApp receipts. The Windows desktop software runs the counter and the back office: stock for frames and lenses, vendor ledgers, the full sales and POS screen, staff logins and permissions, and exports. Stock is managed on the desktop and the phone sells from the same stock. Most shops use both, and either works on its own.

Your records are not kept only on the counter PC. Prescriptions, sales and stock are saved to your Asaan Optics account on the server as you work, so if a PC fails or is stolen you install the software on a replacement machine, sign in, and your data is there. Records entered while offline stay on the device until they sync, so sync them once the connection returns.
